Wacky Rally organise international novelty Banger Rallies to raise money for charity and have a whole lot of fun along the way!
To design and build a website allowing participants and teams to sign up and register for each rally, plan their strategies, check route maps and keep updated on the progress of each event.
Wacky Rally wanted a Brighton web design company to attract potential drivers and teams to sign up and get involved in their events. The design needed to reflect the lively and fun spirit of a charity banger rally where the emphasis is not just about being first past the post.
A forum was installed along with a blog for participants to get in the team spirit, share ideas and get technical help, and keep themselves up to date with new information from the organisers.
A content management system for each team to administer their own group website under the supervision of organisers was also built, allowing participants to upload photos and keep their fellow team members in the loop.
The site was designed with search engine optimisation in mind from the outset. We conducted thorough market and keyword research to find out how best to reach the target demographic of fun loving rally enthusiasts and petrol heads with a sense of humour.
We conducted a highly focused eMarketing campaign which included press releases, articles, link building with websites in related sectors, plus a social media campaign to draw in more participants and drive sign-ups.
Within two months we achieved top 3 positioning on Google.co.uk for the most competitive keywords. The first event sold out and was covered on Italian national TV. Subsequent rallies have been highly successful and the site as a whole has become a hive of activity for banger rally enthusiasts and amateurs alike.
Additionally, we integrated a sophisticated e-mail marketing system into the website, allowing Wacky Rally organisers to keep in touch with their email list and participants of particular rallies, keeping them informed of rule changes, routes and bonus challenges, as well as prizewinners and stage times.
