At the tail end of last year, we had the privilege of sponsoring and attending Together Co’s Winter Warmer event at Brighton’s Grand Hotel. Together Co is a charity that means a lot to me, working tirelessly to tackle loneliness and bring people together in our community. The event was such a lovely reminder of how important connection is and how much of a difference we can make when we show up for others.
The afternoon was packed with tonnes of wholesome moments. Guests tucked into a delicious two-course meal in the beautiful setting of the Grand Hotel, and the entertainment - well, it was just ace. There was some incredible singing, a surprising amount of dancing and even a bit of magic to keep everyone smiling. The whole room was buzzing with laughter and joy. For many of the guests, it was a rare chance to spend time with others, share stories and soak up the festive cheer.
One of my favourite moments was watching the dancing - the floor was alive all afternoon, and the happiness was contagious. I also had the pleasure of meeting Baby Mabel (Oliver Russell's new addition), who stole the show and the majority of the attendee's hearts! The day really was a perfect mix of community and feel-good vibes.
Together Co’s mission to improve social health is so important, especially for people who live alone or feel cut off from others. Social health isn’t something we talk about enough, but it’s just as crucial as physical and mental well-being. When people don’t have chances to connect, it can take a real toll on their overall health.
Hearing some of the stories from attendees really hit home for me. People opened up about the challenges they’ve faced and the journeys that brought them to where they are now. Some of their experiences reminded me of my own mum, who has felt the sting of loneliness since my dad passed away. It’s something so many of us can relate to, and it’s why the work Together Co does is absolutely vital.
The event was so well organised, and it was amazing to see so many people coming together to support such a worthwhile cause. Beyond the singing, dancing and food, it was all about connection - whether that was through a chat over lunch, a laugh on the dance floor, or just soaking up the warm, welcoming atmosphere.
I was pleased to make new professional connections too, as well as catch up with familiar faces and hear some incredible stories. It was a truly rewarding experience to see the direct impact of Together Co’s work in action.
We’re proud to support Together Co and everything they do, and we’re looking forward to continuing that support in the future. It’s a great reminder that even small acts can make a huge difference. Whether it’s volunteering, donating or just reaching out to someone who might be feeling lonely, we can all play a part in building a kinder, more connected community.
