A bit of a revolution has been taking place behind the scenes of the e-commerce world. Major mainstream brands, which were once stuck in the vicious cycle of custom-built websites and complex digital infrastructures, are now finding solace in a versatile and user-friendly platform: Shopify

Some of the world’s largest companies and household names are jumping ship and choosing Shopify for a multitude of reasons. Shopify provides companies with an easy-to-use, easy-to-set-up, customisable, and mobile-optimised platform to sell online. You only need minimal technical expertise to get a basic shop up and running, and if you want to give customers a great shopping experience, there’s no shortage of help out there to push your brand into the stratosphere.

After a bit of digging around using tools like Wappalyzer, I was able to verify a 5 mainstream brands that have chosen Shopify as their trusted e-commerce platform.

1. Simba Sleep

Simba Sleep was founded in the UK in 2015 and has since expanded to Canada and China. Simba Sleep's website is a testament to Shopify's power, seamlessly combining stunning visuals with an intuitive user interface. The platform's customisable themes also allow users to easily mix and match their mattress sizes, bed bases, and even create their own sleep bundles with duvets and pillows. The website design allows Simba to showcase its wide range of different products in an engaging manner, guiding customers towards a restful night's sleep.

2. Kylie Cosmetics

Kylie Jenner's cosmetics empire, Kylie Cosmetics, has garnered a massive following, and its online presence is equally remarkable. The brand's choice to use Shopify has allowed it to marry the worlds of beauty and user-friendly design. The website has a sleek and straightforward layout, enabling visitors to effortlessly browse through the many products. The website’s customised design and colours showcase the Kylie Cosmetics’ branding while Shopify’s robust hosting handles the high levels of website traffic from Kylie’s massive social media following.

3. Netflix Shop

Netflix has become synonymous with streaming entertainment, but the company also has an online merchandise store that is equally noteworthy. The Netflix Shop utilises Shopify's platform to merge entertainment and e-commerce, offering fans an opportunity to own a piece of their favourite shows and movies. The platform's versatility enables Netflix to curate unique shopping experiences, with interactive pages showcasing currently trending shows.

4. Minecraft

Even the virtual world has found a home on Shopify, as demonstrated by Minecraft's online store. Minecraft's merchandise shop capitalises on Shopify's global reach to bring themed toys, clothes, and games to fans worldwide. The platform's flexibility and customisation features allow Minecraft to craft an online selling platform that mirrors its imaginative gameplay.

5. Bremont

Bremont watches are known for creating highly durable and precise tool watches which are used by adventurers, explorers, and over 400 military squadrons across the globe. As such, their website showcases videos of their watches being put to the test in the most extreme environments on the planet. Shopify's customisable interface allows Bremont to present its videos alongside its diverse selection of watches, enhancing its strong brand positioning and celebrating its luxury watches.

Why Shopify?

So, what's driving these mainstream brands to choose Shopify over other e-commerce platforms? The answer lies in Shopify's blend of user-friendliness, customisation, scalability and low cost upkeep. Unlike the traditional headache-inducing complexities of e-commerce websites, Shopify's intuitive interface empowers brands to take control of their online presence without needing technical specialists for day to day management. Sure, when you want to push the boundaries, you’ll need development expertise, but for many brands, their basic needs can be met with out of the box tools and app integrations.

Shopify's array of different themes and templates enable brands to create visually stunning websites in a fraction of the time compared with other solutions.

Moreover, Shopify's scalability ensures that brands can grow without the limitations of a rigid platform. As businesses expand their product offerings, enter new markets, and need to keep up with growing website traffic, Shopify seamlessly adapts to accommodate these changes. This scalability is vital for the success of these huge global brands as they conquer global markets.
