The Challenge

Nocturne Live is a weekend of events held at Blenheim Festival in Oxfordshire. 2017’s lineup included The Jacksons, Kool & The Gang, Jamie Cullum, Gregory Porter and The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (John Williams). We had to position Blenheim's atmosphere as a clear differentiator to other festivals.

Our Approach

To show the beautiful location of the festival, we introduced photography of the palace into the homepage design. This meant swapping out tiled images of artists for a large sweeping image of the festival.
We introduced a striking blue accent to CTAs to draw the user's attention. We also made space for the email sign up field also which is a key marketing channel for the festival.
The site was already seeing strong SEO gains year on year, with organic traffic volume up over 40%. We recommended small technical tweaks and content optimisation, with a specific focus on use of keywords to help accelerate organic growth.

The Results

Two weeks after launch bounce rate had improved 26.34%. Users were spending 130% more time on site and were visiting 61% more pages per session. Extra promotional activity had resulted in 68.40% more sessions.
